Heating

QTherm covers complete home heating solutions: underfloor heating (water and electric), heat-storage radiators, convectors, infrared panels and pump groups. All electric, ready for solar and of proven quality at an accessible price.

Comparing electric heating to other heating systems

Compared to fossil-fuel heating systems such as gas or oil, as well as more complex systems like heat pumps, electric heating offers many practical advantages: it is maintenance-free, has much lower investment costs, can be installed flexibly, and produces no local emissions. It is an economically and ecologically sensible alternative, particularly for renovations, partial modernizations, or in combination with photovoltaics.

Electric heating vs gas heating

Electric heating vs gas heating

Gas heating requires a gas connection, regular maintenance, and is subject to rising CO2 charges. Electric heating needs only an electrical connection, is ready to use immediately, and has no fuel costs. It offers more flexibility at a lower initial investment, ideal for decentralized solutions or as a supplement.

Electric heating vs oil heating

Electric heating vs oil heating

Oil heating is considered outdated today: it is maintenance-intensive, requires storage tanks, and emits high amounts of CO2. Electric heating is emission-free in operation, maintenance-free, and needs no storage space. Combined with green electricity it is significantly more environmentally friendly, and already meets future efficiency standards today.

Electric heating and heat pumps

Electric heating and heat pumps

Heat pumps are efficient, but they also have their limits: a higher initial investment, more complex installation, and the need for space for an outdoor unit. Electric heating and heat pumps are usually not competitors but complements. For smaller homes, for example around 30 m², a fully electric solution makes sense: electric radiators, an electric water heater for hot water, and electric underfloor heating in the bathroom, with a low investment and no complex installation. And even when you already have a heat pump, an electric radiator in a bedroom can replace the costly extension of underfloor heating and save on installation. Both solutions work excellently with photovoltaics.

Combination

A heat pump for the main spaces and electric radiators for rarely used rooms and bathrooms. You save on installation while keeping running costs low.

The estimate is based on consumption by insulation level, an electricity price of €0.18/kWh and a seasonal heat pump efficiency (SCOP) of 3.5. Actual figures depend on insulation, habits and system. Figures are indicative.

The exact payback depends on the equipment and installation cost for your building. For a concrete proposal and calculation, contact our network.

Frequently asked questions

Does QTherm offer underfloor heating?+

Yes. QTherm offers complete water and electric underfloor heating solutions: manifolds, pipes, insulation panels, cabinets, heating mats and WiFi thermostats.

What is the difference between water and electric underfloor heating?+

Water systems use circuits with a heating medium and suit whole-home, all-day heating. Electric mats heat smaller areas quickly and are easier to install during renovations.

What does a QTherm underfloor heating system include?+

Manifolds (FHFMI-TOP, QPR-PRO), multilayer F-Pipe PE-RT2-EVOH pipes, studded and tacker insulation panels, UB-series cabinets and installation accessories.
